Description

Russian Red Quartz is a rare member of the Quartz family, a silicon dioxide mineral with a hardness of 7. Its crystal system is hexagonal (trigonal). It occurs in remote parts of the Ural mountains in Russia. It forms in prismatic crystals, usually in clusters. The color is deep orange-red. Most of the crystals are not transparent, though they are translucent.
