Description
Staurolite is a complex mineral containing iron, magnesium, zinc, aluminium and silicon. Its hardnes is 7 to 7.5 and its crystal system is monoclinic. It forms in prismatic crystals, often in cruciform (cross-shaped) twins. The color is reddish brown, dark brown or brownish black.
